Legal Corps

Brightline is growing its network of attorneys and law students to contribute to its environmental justice and policy initiatives that promote sustainability and opportunity for frontline communities. The program is designed to adapt to a changing environmental legal landscape and the diverse communities we serve. Projects vary in scope to accommodate various levels of engagement and address critical needs. Participants have the option to provide legal support on a reduced rate or pro bono basis while gaining valuable experience. Special Counsel Peter Ton oversees the program, ensuring synergy between Brightline staff and the Legal Corps to advance Brightline’s mission. 


Goals

  • Expand Brightline’s reach in the legal and policy space to meet the growing demand for environmental justice and policy advocacy as local, state, and national landscapes continue to evolve.

  • Empower Legal Corps members to develop practical experience and confidence by working on real-world legal projects that support community-led environmental solutions. 

  • Build a lasting network of attorneys committed to advancing environmental justice, creating a pipeline for future leadership in nonprofit environmental justice work.

To be eligible to apply, you must be a law student or an attorney.

Brightline is accepting applications for the Legal Corps on a rolling basis. Participants have the option to contribute to legal services on a pro bono or reduced rate basis.
