Program Specialist
About the Position: This role is a temporary, part-time position (up to 20 hrs/week) that will assist with a variety of program and organizational needs, but primary projects identified for this role are as follows:
Chinatown GOES Program Support:
Support the Chinatown GOES program, a high school youth environmental justice and open spaces curriculum, including supporting the Program Associate who will be facilitating the sessions, providing any meeting support and set up, etc.
Air Quality Community Organizing Support:
Support upcoming air purifier distributions, meeting support and other administrative tasks.
Support JCS CYC high school youth air quality programming, including supporting the Program Associate who will be co-facilitating the sessions with CYC.
Additional program support as needed-could include supporting site visits, off site community meetings, air quality sensor network maintenance, and data work, etc.
General Support:
Provide communications support such as drafting materials, filming social media clips to bring visibility to Brightline’s work and support the communications team
Provide meeting support such as organizing logistics, day of support & set up, minute taking, presentation creation,
Provide grant support including with any progress report deliverables, looking for documentation, helping to track deadlines, follow up with partners, etc.
Assist Brightline team members with other projects as needed, including general administrative support and in office needs
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
1-2 years of related work experience
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Outstanding relationship-building skills, as well as ability to adapt communication style
Familiarity utilizing Google Suite, Canva (or other design software)
Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, ability to adapt and must be detail oriented.
Desire to learn more about Brightline’s work
Desire to work with diverse communities and neighborhoods in San Francisco
Willingness to help the team out as needed as tasks will vary
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
A.A. or B.A/B.S in related field or related experience
Experience in data analytics
Experience with ArcGIS, Python or other coding language.
Spanish, Cantonese, or Arabic language skills
Experience working with community-based organizations and or low-income communities
Compensation
$35/hour-$40/hour-salary set based on experience
