Policy Fellowships

Brightline is committed to creating opportunities for future environmental justice and policy leaders through our fellowship program. Hosted as three cycles (Spring, Summer, Fall), our fellowship program supports a cohort of undergraduates to develop and obtain critical skills while contributing to Brightline’s policy priorities.

Brightline’s Policy Fellows are expected to live in the San Francisco Bay Area during their fellowship for hybrid and community-focused work.

Fellows should expect to gain knowledge about local and state-level policy making, hone research and writing skills, and tackle complex environmental justice issues. Brightline’s Policy Fellow will engage policy makers and administrative law stakeholders at various levels of government, including the City and County of San Francisco, the SF Commission on the Environment, California Public Utilities Commission, California Energy Commission, Bay Conservation and Development Commission, Bay Area Air Quality Management District, Metropolitan Transportation Commission, and the California Legislature.
