Brightline and Community Partners Conduct Traffic Counts Throughout San Francisco

As traffic congestion returns to the Bay Area, Brightline, along with volunteers from Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC) and Central City SRO Collaborative (CCSROC), has been conducting a traffic count as a part of the Brightline Air Quality Monitoring Program. 

With 19 air quality sensors now in communities such as South of Market, the Tenderloin, and Chinatown, Brightline and its community partners have started traffic counts to better understand air quality impacts for local street congestion. 

Thanks to Brightline’s new fellows from a new statewide climate leadership program, the California Climate Action Corps (CCAC), Eleanor Kim and Icelyn Yepez have driven this effort alongside Brightline Program Coordinator Cecilia Mejia, SRO Tenant Leaders, and High School Youth Leaders.
