Protecting and Empowering Communities

Brightline is a policy advocacy non-profit that works to promote sustainability in otherwise vulnerable communities. Our focus is on quality-of-life improvements in low-income communities and communities of color, particularly those historically polluted by dirty power plants.

Brightline was founded on November 22, 2005 and received tax-exempt status as an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) designated public charity on November 8, 2006.

We are proud to be supported by the Surdna Foundation, the San Francisco Foundation, the Mitchell Kapor Foundation, and the Argosy Foundation.
